Maricel Soriano shares learnings from 2024, her wishes for 2025

In the latest video uploaded on her YouTube channel, Diamond Star Maricel Soriano reminisced on some of the highlights of her 2024, as well as reflected on the most important lesson that it taught her and the things she wishes to happen for her and the people around her this year.
When quizzed about her top three favorites among the videos that they published in the past year, Maricel shared that it would be the episodes with her beloved family, their refrigerator raids in the celebrity homes they visited, and her interviews with her ex-husband Edu and favorite on-screen partner, Cesar Montano.
She also enjoyed her reunions with senior actresses Matutina, Nova Villa, and Nora Aunor, as well as her conversations with some of the young stars that she got to work with in the recent projects that she did.
Maricel then recalled her unforgettable encounters with Judy Ann Santos and Megastar Sharon Cuneta at the 2024 ABS-CBN Christmas Special last December, in which she also had a lighthearted moment with her “Lavender Fields” co-stars Janine and Jericho that was caught on camera. Since both Echo and Janine are tall, the Diamond Star asked for an apple box to stand on so that they would be somehow on the same height, to which Echo poked fun at.

With everything that happened to her in 2024, the “Lavender Fields” actress divulged that her biggest takeaway was genuine love, which she defined as having respect, affection, and trust. She expounded, “Nabigyan ko nga ng puwang ang salitang love kasi hindi naman para sa lovers lang ‘yang love, ‘di ba? Pwede sa pamilya mo, mga kaibigan mo, kasamahan mo sa trabaho. Na-appreciate ko ‘yong love for the first time and for the longest time. Na-appreciate ko ‘yong tinatawag na love ulit pero in a different way.”
Meanwhile, when it comes to what she looks forward to in 2025, she conveyed her enthusiasm to work more after getting inspired by the movies that she watched, particularly the ones included in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival. At the same time, she also desires to do a movie once a striking story will be offered to her.
And lastly, if there’s one thing she wishes for herself, Maricel implied that it’s probably for her to have more patience. While it’s something that she used to not have, she’s delighted and proud that she is able to develop it in the past year, along with deeper understanding or discernment.
She capped off the video by reminding everyone to always be grateful every time God wakes us up and gives us another day to live and fulfill our purpose, as well as greeting everyone a “Happy New Year.”
